CNC Swiss Lathe Operator – 2nd Shift / Weekend

Ripley Machine is growing, and we're looking for a dependable, self-motivated CNC Swiss Lathe Operator to support our 2nd shift or weekend operations. This role is designed for someone who takes pride in their work, can be trusted to run equipment independently, and understands that quality and accountability matter.

About the Role

This position is primarily responsible for keeping our CNC Swiss lathes running during off-shifts. You will often be working on your own, so trust, judgment, and attention to detail are critical. You'll be expected to follow established processes, maintain quality standards, and make the right call — including stopping production when something isn't right.

While the primary focus is on Swiss lathes, you may occasionally support other CNC lathes as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor CNC Swiss lathes to ensure consistent, quality production
• Load bar stock and manage material flow
• Perform in-process inspection using appropriate gages and inspection tools
• Change tools and inserts as required
• Make offset adjustments within established guidelines
• Deburr, wash, and pack parts per work instructions
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Participate in 6S and continuous improvement activities
• Follow all quality, safety, and production procedures
• Make sound decisions to stop production when issues arise and communicate concerns clearly

What We're Looking For

• CNC lathe experience required; Swiss experience strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts
• Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills
• Comfortable following documented processes and work instructions
• Someone we can trust — reliable, accountable, and consistent
• Willing to take ownership of their work and earn their pay

Schedule & Compensation

• 2nd Shift and Weekend schedules available
• Shift differential offered for off-shift work
• Competitive pay based on experience
