Senior Civil Engineer

Senior Civil Engineer — Long Beach, CA (Onsite)

Mangan Inc. is an employee-owned engineering and automation firm supporting clients across the energy, utility, oil & gas, renewable, and industrial markets. We are expanding our Civil Engineering team in Long Beach, CA and are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to support utility power and substation-related infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead civil site development activities including grading, drainage, access roads, and utility coordination
• Prepare and oversee Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and erosion control documentation
• Manage permitting processes with local, state, and federal agencies
• Collaborate with electrical, structural, and project management teams to integrate civil scope into substation and power infrastructure projects
• Provide construction-phase support, including site inspections and compliance with environmental and safety requirements
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to meet project schedules and budgets

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• Typically 8+ years of relevant civil engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Demonstrated experience supporting utility power, transmission, distribution, or substation-adjacent infrastructure projects
• Strong background in site development tied to utility infrastructure (grading, drainage, SWPPP, permitting)
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Experience with construction documentation and construction support

Preferred (but not required):

• Experience with StormCAD, HydroCAD, SWMM, ArcGIS, Revit, or Bluebeam
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in California or Utah

Work Location

• This position requires onsite work in Long Beach, California

• Competitive base salary ($80k-$120k) commensurate with experience
