The Role
Johnnie-O is looking for an Assistant Store Manager to lead the Tyson's Corner retail location, delivering an exceptional customer experience while driving sales, building a strong team, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This role is responsible for achieving results in key focus areas such as team leadership, sales/community growth, customer experience, and store operations.
Responsibilities
On behalf of Johnnie-O, you will support all aspects of daily store operations while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role is highly operationally focused - ensuring smooth execution of opening/closing procedures, inventory accuracy, visual standards, and staff scheduling - yet remains actively engaged on the sales floor to drive business and model a best-in-class service culture.
- Support the Store Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations, including cash handling, inventory management, shipment processing, and store maintenance.
- Serve as a leader on the sales floor, coaching and motivating associates to achieve sales goals and deliver outstanding customer service.
- Ensure visual and operational standards are consistently executed and reflective of the brand.
- Partner with the Store Manager on scheduling, training, and performance feedback for team members.
- Act as the point person in the Store Manager's absence - ensuring a positive, efficient, and well-organized environment.
- Maintain deep product knowledge and effectively communicate brand story, fit, and styling guidance to customers.
- Help identify operational efficiencies and process improvements to support store productivity and profitability. Support overall store operations as needed, including assisting team members during peak periods, managing special projects, providing coverage during absences, and performing additional duties aligned with the role and business needs as directed by management.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of retail management experience, ideally in a premium or lifestyle brand.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets while developing strong teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze performance, make data-driven decisions, and act quickly on opportunities.
- Comfort with POS systems, reporting tools, and MS Office applications.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., climb ladders, and be on your feet for extended periods.
