Description of Duties: A peer recovery coach is someone personally in long term recovery from substance use disorder. They offer non-clinical recovery support services to people in or seeking recovery through a combination of the use of their lived experience, role-modeling and ongoing training/supervision. They utilize a person-centered approach to support peers in initiating and maintaining recovery and increasing their recovery capital (employment, education, support groups, housing. etc.). Peer recovery support services can work in conjunction with traditional clinical treatment or be an alternative to clinical treatment. Peer recovery coaches walk side by side with individuals at every stage of recovery and assist/support them in creating their own recovery plan and developing their own recovery pathway/s. Peer recovery coaches support all individual's pathway choices. Addiction Recovery Support Center's offer a safe environment that allows individuals served to freely explore different pathways to recovery and offers a variety of social supports both traditional and non-traditional in nature. Community outreach and the ability to share ones personal story. Cultivate involvement from stakeholders/supporters in the local community. Collaborate closely with the Sumter/Houston County Accountability Court Coordinators and Middle Flint Health and Wellness leadership to ensure consistency in providing services at our locations as well as services in the MFHW catchment area. Ensure the principles and values of recovery and are upheld in all services provided to individuals, family members, friends, and allies. Work closely with leadership and managers of other projects and services. Support and develop collaboration between New Life/MFHW, community partners, and the surrounding community. A valid driver's license and High School Diploma or equivalent are required.

Under the close to general supervision, transports passengers and /or mail and materials to assigned geographical area. Ensures Safety of vehicle and passengers.  May perform and or assist with routine maintenance of vehicles. Reports all accidents, incidents and or breakdowns involving vehicle while in use. Completes and submits appropriate documentation for area of assignment. Maintains a consistent, high-quality customer-focused orientation when conducting business and providing services to customers, the general public or other external customers. Complete and or attend all mandated In-service education in a timely manner. Assist with minor office duties. Available for day trips for a variety of prosocial activities. Loading and unloading of event related equipment, pop-up tents, tables, chairs, etc. Be able if necessary to stand, bend, lift 20LBs, help peers on and off van, and change a flat tire if necessary. Middle Flint Behavioral Healthcare Motor Vehicle Operator will provide service to the following 8 counties: Webster, Marion, Sumter, Schley, Taylor, Crisp, Dooly, and Macon.

Minimum Qualifications:  Valid, unrestricted Georgia Driver's License.  CPR and First Aid Certification. Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders or behavioral needs. Basic computer knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications: :  One to two years of experience with providing transportation for individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders on (15) passenger van. Two years consistent abstinent recovery.

Agency is an eligible worksite for the VA Education Benefit Program (Veterans)

Agency is an eligible work site for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program .

Middle Flint Health & Wellness services the following 11 counties: Webster, Marion, Sumter, Schley, Taylor, Crisp, Dooly, Macon, Houston, Peach and Crawford.
