Our successful candidate will possess the following qualifications;
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of accounting or accounts payable experience in the hotel/hospitality industry
- Familiarity with financial systems (BirchStreet, SUN, or similar) considered an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software considered a must
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and internal controls are necessary

Accounts Payable Accountant

Salary Range $49, $56,000.00 per annum

What will I be doing?
The Accounts Payable Accountant supports the Finance Team in delivering accurate, timely, and compliant financial results in accordance with Hilton brand standards, internal controls, and accounting policies. This role is responsible for the day-to-day processing of accounts payable while assisting with general ledger activities, month-end close, and audit requirements.
This position contributes to Hilton's commitment to financial integrity, operational excellence, and ownership value, while supporting hotel leaders in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
What are we looking for?
The Accounts Payable Accountant is responsible for the following;
- Processing vendor invoices accurately and timely in accordance with Hilton Accounts Payable policies and internal controls.
- Ensuring invoices are properly approved, coded, and supported by purchase orders and receiving documentation.
- Preparing and processing weekly payment runs (cheques, EFTs, wires) in line with Hilton procedures.
- Reconciling vendor statements and investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Responding professionally to vendor inquiries while maintaining positive supplier relationships.
In addition, the Accounts Payable Accountant will;
- Assist with daily revenue reporting and financial data review, as required
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations under the direction of the Finance Leadership Team
- Support month-end and year-end close processes in compliance with Hilton timelines
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and supporting documentation
- Assist with internal, external, and brand audits
In this exciting role, the Accounts Payable Accountant will also be responsible for the following;
Compliance, Controls & Brand Standards
- Ensure compliance with Hilton internal controls, policies, and accounting standards
- Maintain strict confidentiality of financial, payroll, and team member information
- Support the Finance Team in safeguarding hotel assets and ownership interests
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with hotel department leaders to resolve invoice discrepancies and cost-coding questions
- Support Finance projects and ad-hoc reporting as assigned
- Contribute to process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance
