Your opportunity:
This role focuses on executing strategic communication initiatives that highlight the Faculty of Nursing's academic excellence, research impact, and community engagement. It aims to strengthen the faculty's reputation, attract prospective students, and foster meaningful connections with stakeholders through compelling storytelling and targeted outreach.
Under the functional supervision of the Senior Communications and Media Relations Officer, this position plays a key role in implementing the Faculty's strategic communication plan. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating project tasks and strategic initiatives with internal and external stakeholders, as well as tracking and monitoring outreach activities. Responsibilities include developing and producing promotional and outreach materials; analyzing and recommending approaches for the visual design and layout of digital assets; creating and maintaining a strong presence across social media platforms; and providing guidance on emerging social media trends to enhance digital communication strategies. The role also ensures that information on all digital platforms remains accurate, current, and aligned with the Faculty's brand and objectives.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting digital communications activities by coordinating tasks for projects and other strategic initiatives.
- Responding to requests for visual material, and ensuring consistency and adherence to Faculty and University of Toronto's brand guidelines.
- Producing content, promotional and outreach materials for a variety of communications and marketing initiatives through print and/or online communications channels.
- Writing and editing digital communications for print and online channels.
- Tracking and monitoring social media and outreach activities, including generating reports.
- Providing website support including liaising with website users regarding usability feedback, creating and editing web pages, and verifying content is up-to-date.
- Supports social media strategies by creating and maintaining presence on social media platforms and advising on social media trends and platforms to enhance digital communication strategies.
- Conducting photography and/or videography shoots for a variety of projects.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications or Marketing or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum four years of experience in digital communications, content creation, or marketing.
- Experience producing visual, promotional, and outreach materials for print and digital platforms.
- Knowledge and experience managing social media channels, including building active engagement, maintaining a consistent voice and expanding reach.
- Proficiency with social media platforms such as LinkedIn and Meta platforms, scheduling software (e.g. Buffer, Sprout) and web content management tools (Wordpress).
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, Adobe Photoshop, and Canva.
- Strong planning, project management skills with excellent prioritization and time management skills to meet multiple and conflicting deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, showing initiative and good judgment, and be an effective team member.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) with the ability to concisely summarize information.
- Client-services oriented with demonstrated listening and critical thinking skills.
- Creative and solutions-oriented with exceptional attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills.

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band $67,916. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $86,855. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
