Engineering – Red Lake

Be a part of the initial team to grow and operate a regionally significant new underground mine development that is rapidly becoming the future of the iconic Red Lake gold mining district in Ontario, Canada.

Reporting to the Senior Mine Planner, the successful candidate will work 7:7 roaster and will be responsible for providing ventilation statutory requirement to support the safe development of the mine to achieve and surpass production targets while adding value to the Red Lake Madsen mine.
 

The Focus of this role will include:

  • Monitor airflow, air quality, and temperature measurements and generating weekly vent reports
  • Performing weekly audits on auxiliary ventilation quality and providing improvements recommendations
  • Ensuring mine wide compliance to ventilation regulatory requirements
  • Supporting the conceptual presentations by providing ventilation designs
  • Maintain an update Ventsim model of the mine
  • Test for methane, silica, DMP and determine diesel equipment allowances
  • Generate monthly updates for the mine's Emergency Response Plans

 Skills and Experience:

  • 2 years engineering technician diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with the use of Deswik mine planning software
  • 2 years experience working in an underground mine
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite (excel, powerpoint and word)
