Senior Actuarial Analyst, Reserving

We're looking for a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our Corporate Actuarial team in Reserving. In this role, you'll report to the Senior Actuarial Manager, Reserving and play a key part in shaping Aviva's financial performance.

Reserving is a trusted function with significant influence across the business.  In addition to building core reserving knowledge, team members benefit from meaningful interaction and exposure to insurance financials, claims operations, and actuarial pricing. Other development opportunities specific to the role includes technical skills in working with large datasets, claims knowledge, reinsurance knowledge, and product knowledge with a focus on commercial lines.

• Support the operation and development of claims and policy data used by Reserving models

• Analyze claim reserve levels using actuarial techniques for core and specialty commercial business.

• Support the Quarterly Reserving Committee and year-end valuation reports.

• Maintain monitoring reports for internal and external reporting.

• Provide insights on financial performance from a reserving perspective.

• Collaborate with partners across the company to understand reserve impacts on their respective portfolio.

• Drive process improvements for greater efficiency.

• Mentor junior analysts and act as a technical resource.

• Ensure accuracy and consistency in complex data and financial projections.

• Degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or related field.

• Working towards ACAS/FCAS designation

• Minimum of 5 CAS exams

• Minimum of 3 years of P&C insurance experience

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through the technical implementation details while appreciating the big picture.

• Proficiency in MS Excel and SAS.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• The salary band for this position ranges from $90,000 to $120,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
