Responsibilities:
  • Create drawings for manufacturing of tooling components complete with dimensions and tolerances according to ISO system
  • Evaluate fit and function in existing tools, perform tolerance stack‑ups, GD&T interpretation, and precision fit calculations utilizing ISO System of Limits and Fits.
  • Assign correct fit for assemblies, material and tolerances for tooling components
  • Design manufacturing process for tooling components
  • Work with outsource suppliers
  • Work with tool makers to improve tools performance and service
  • Design jigs and fixtures
  • Demonstrate initiative to improve productivity, profitability, efficiency and safety in your processes
  • Attend all company specified training as required
  • Participate in continual improvement
Qualifications:
  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 2 years minimum of mechanical engineering and design experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience using computer engineering applications with a strong emphasis on utilizing Solidworks
  • Experience with PDM pro or other files management system
  • 2 years minimum experience with press stamping tools including design, manufacturing, assembly and service
  • Knowledge and experience with formal documentation systems and methods
  • Experience with Microsoft office suite
