Seeking a skilled Forklift Operator for our facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is essential for our logistics operations, involving the safe and efficient movement of materials within the warehouse. You will operate forklifts to load and unload trucks, move pallets of goods, stock inventory, and transport materials to designated areas. Safety is our top priority, and you must be committed to adhering to all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE . This position requires physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks involving significant lifting and precise maneuvering of heavy loads. Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck).
- Load and unload freight from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Stack and organize inventory accurately.
- Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any issues.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere strictly to all safety rules and wear required PPE.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift certification (e.g., OSHA-approved).
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
