Our busy logistics center in Virginia Beach, Virginia, is looking for a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to manage the intake of all incoming goods. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for accurately unloading shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and shipping manifests, inspecting items for damage, and efficiently entering received goods into our Warehouse Management System (WMS). You will also be responsible for organizing received inventory and preparing it for put-away. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and a good understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy of our inventory from the moment it enters our facility. Adherence to all safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. This position requires the ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting up to 40 lbs. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from trucks and trailers.
- Verify received items against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies.
- Accurately enter received inventory data into the WMS.
- Label and stage incoming goods for put-away.
- Maintain organized receiving areas.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or overages/shortages to management.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Wear required PPE at all times.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in receiving or warehouse operations is preferred.
- Proficiency with computers and data entry.
- Experience with WMS software is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the use of PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
