Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and organized Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in Houston, Texas. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. Your primary duties will involve conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions to minimize stock adjustments. You will also be involved in receiving and put-away processes, ensuring all items are correctly identified, scanned, and stored in their designated locations. A key aspect of this position involves working closely with the warehouse management system (WMS) to track inventory movements and generate reports for analysis. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of inventory management principles, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other departments. This role requires adherence to strict safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Employees will be expected to engage in regular lifting of items up to 50 lbs. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the efficiency of our supply chain operations.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory data in the WMS.
  • Assist with receiving and put-away of incoming goods.
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify potential shortages or overages.
  • Implement inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Maintain a clean and organized stockroom.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and operations teams on inventory matters.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in inventory control or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in WMS software and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics.
  • Commitment to safety and proper use of PPE.
