Our Omaha, Nebraska facility is looking for a dependable Material Handler to join our team. This position is crucial for the efficient movement and organization of goods within our warehouse. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, and transferring materials, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. The role involves operating various material handling equipment, maintaining a clean workspace, and strictly adhering to all safety protocols. Proper use of PPE is non-negotiable. Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and accurately log incoming materials.
- Transport materials to appropriate storage locations using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Stage materials for various operational needs, including production and shipping.
- Load and unload trailers and trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by properly identifying, counting, and recording materials.
- Ensure the warehouse is kept clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Operate and perform basic maintenance on material handling equipment.
- Follow all company safety guidelines and use required PPE at all times.
- Assist in cycle counts and physical inventory checks.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow within the logistics department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a material handling or warehouse setting is necessary.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks is essential; certification preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent bending, squatting, and standing.
- Capable of lifting and maneuvering objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Solid understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control principles.
- Familiarity with logistics best practices.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to regulations.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be dependable and possess a strong work ethic.
