Our Sacramento, California facility is seeking a diligent Shipping & Receiving Associate. This crucial role involves the efficient management of incoming and outgoing goods. You will be responsible for receiving deliveries, verifying contents, stocking items, preparing outgoing shipments, and coordinating with carriers. The ideal candidate is highly organized, possesses strong attention to detail, and has a solid understanding of warehouse operations and logistics. Your contribution will be vital to maintaining the smooth flow of our supply chain. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming freight, verifying against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Accurately document and report any damages or discrepancies.
- Stock received items in their designated warehouse locations.
- Pick, pack, and stage outgoing orders accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading and labels.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers.
- Maintain an organized and clean shipping and receiving area.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely (certification may be required).
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist in cycle counts.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or general warehouse operations is required.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, and standing for extended periods.
- Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment is highly desirable.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the proper use of PPE.
