We are seeking an experienced and certified Forklift Operator to join our busy warehouse in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This critical role involves the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. You will be responsible for ensuring materials are handled properly, supporting both receiving and shipping functions, and maintaining the orderliness of the warehouse. A strong focus on safety and compliance with all regulations is essential. Your expertise will be vital to our logistics operations, ensuring smooth material flow and preventing damage to goods or equipment. We are committed to providing a safe workspace and expect all employees to strictly follow safety protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Stack and store inventory in racks and other storage locations.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock checks.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on forklifts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 70 pounds.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with various types of forklifts and their operation.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE at all times.
