About the Job
Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional looking for your next challenge?
We're looking for an Accountant to join our team, supporting the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, you'll work closely with both finance and operations teams—helping ensure our numbers are solid, our reporting is accurate, and our business decisions are well informed.
This is a hybrid role based out of our Niagara Falls office, offering a balance of flexibility and collaboration.
Salary Range: $60,000–$75,000, based on qualifications and experience.
What You'll Be Doing
Preparing standard journal entries for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
Completing monthly Corporate tax and HST/GST remittances, along with Stats Canada reporting, and investigating variances to ensure accuracy and compliance
Providing financial analysis and support to operations and construction teams
Preparing monthly sales reconciliations to ensure accurate coding and values
Maintaining fixed asset records, including additions, transfers, disposals, and monthly depreciation
Reviewing account reconciliations and balance sheet analysis
Collaborating with operations to identify process and system improvement opportunities
Supporting day-to-day administrative accounting tasks such as data entry, expense tracking, coding, and payment application
Reviewing accounts payable for coding and tax accuracy, preparing accruals, and reconciling subledgers to the general ledger
Preparing year-end audit files and supporting auditors to ensure an efficient audit process
Here's What You Need
High school diploma (minimum), plus a college diploma or university degree in Accounting or a related field
2–3 years of relevant accounting experience
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
A valid G-Class driver's license with a clean driving abstract
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, explain, and resolve variances
Enrolment in a CPA designation program is encouraged, but not required
