Here's a preview of what you'll be doing:
As an Operator/Material Handler you'll be responsible for safely performing the basic tasks required to offload coal vessels, and load trains and trucks with coal using equipment like front-end loaders.
You'll also be expected to interact with International and domestic vessels and their crews, operate the coal handling system, operate industrial mobile equipment, and perform general maintenance on equipment and facilities, participate in the mooring of vessels, port security, input and complete work orders and complete required documentation. 
This is what we need from you: 
Experience in the operation of front-end loaders, backhoes, skid steers, excavators, and other heavy equipment preferred
Mechanically inclined, and willingness to undertake equipment and facility maintenance task
Must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the safety of his or her own self, or the safety of others 
Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisors(s), adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules with minimal supervision 
MFSO (Marine Facility Security Officer) or PWSR (Person with Security Responsibilities) certification, an asset (not required)
Here are some of the minimum requirements you'll need to have for this role: 
 
Education/Experience: 
High School or GED  
2-5 years of experience preferred, but not required 
18 years of age minimum 
Speak, read and write in English at a proficient level 
Physical Requirements:    
Must have the ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position: 
Work in an environment containing coal dust, hazardous noise, confined space, and in hot or cold environments 
Properly wear all required Personal Protect Equipment
Work at heights, climb stairs, and climb ladders 
Frequent walking, including on uneven ground 
Lift up to 50 pounds frequently
