Job Description Join as a Backend Engineer working directly with the CTO to tackle scaling challenges, data processing, and new feature development for a rapidly growing fintech platform. You’ll contribute to building the UK’s leading finance app, impacting millions of users with your expertise in a high‑performance, engineer‑led environment.

What you will do
Develop and scale Emma’s backend infrastructure, addressing challenges related to data processing and system performance.
Implement new features and integrations contributing to an intensive product roadmap for the UK’s #1 finance app.
Utilize a modern tech stack including TypeScript, gRPC, Vitess, MySQL, and Google Cloud Platform to build robust solutions.
The ideal candidate
Possesses at least 5 years of professional software development experience, ideally with a focus on backend systems.
Thrives in autonomous, high‑responsibility environments and holds themselves to high engineering standards.
Is driven to learn new skills, takes ownership of their work, and is excited by Emma’s mission to revolutionize personal finance.
