Line Cook

American Legion Apache Post 27 provides services to military veterans and their families including a place to build community, socialize, have a good meal and enjoy a variety of entertainment. We are currently accepting applications for Line Cook. We are looking for team members to join our kitchen staff in providing our guests with a variety of well-prepared meals that help create an enjoyable dining experience. The positions offered are Seasonal beginning mid to late September through the end of April. Job Description

• Ensure ingredients and final products are appropriately prepared or cooked.

· Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients.

· Bake, grill, steam, and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry, and other foods.

· Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment, and dishes.

· Handle and store ingredients and food.

· Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.

· Ensure work area equipment and utensils are properly cleaned.

· Execute opening and closing procedures.

· Check the quality and freshness of ingredients.

· Monitor station inventory levels.

· Operate kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills, and fryers,

· Work with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time

· Ensure the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food and safety standards and regulations.

· Ability to handle pressure, remain calm and composed and maintain professionalism during demanding situations

· Adaptability: remain flexible and adaptable to changes in the dining room environment, such as menu updates or unexpected rushes Physical stamina, ability to stand and walk for extended periods typically four hours or more during a shift.
