Position Summary

The Application Systems Analyst is responsible for administering and supporting various application software, print management software, and software licensing systems, and providing IT support to end users. Additionally, the position will collaborate with other IT team members in supporting the IT needs of the university. 

Essential Job Duties


• Responsible for building and maintaining desktop hardware and software configurations including workstation images and application packages
• Administer client/server applications
• Provide desktop and application software support
• Build, schedule, and deploy upgrades to computers across campus
• Work closely with academic departments to maintain and administer software configurations in computer labs, classrooms, and learning spaces
• Administer print management software and systems
• Resolve work orders for requests submitted to the IT Helpdesk
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with 6 months of experience

Licenses/Certifications


• None

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


• Working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and software, Apple and Macintosh operating systems and software, Active Directory and group policy
• Requires the application of general functional and technical knowledge 
• Excellent technical support and training capabilities
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Effective communication skills to interact with students, faculty, and staff
• Must have a strong work ethic and lead by example 
• Must be a professional, credible and respected representative of the institution internally and in the community
• Demonstrated willingness and ability to act ethically and socially responsible
• Ability to communicate in a courteous manner

Physical Demands

 
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Constantly required to remain in a seated position for extended periods
Frequently required to communicate effectively with diverse populations
Regularly performs tasks that involve repetitive wrist and finger movement
Regularly operates a computer and other standard office equipment
Periodically be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Occasionally required to move about the office and similar spaces

The work environment is primarily a typical office setting with moderate noise levels. The role occasionally requires work in confined spaces.
