This role involves designing, executing, and automating test plans to ensure products meet performance, safety, and quality standards throughout the product lifecycle
(initial design and test plan development to post-production analysis and continuous improvement)
while adhering to regulatory requirements.
Critical to success in this position is having hands-on experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, data acquisition, and vehicle communication protocols like CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet. This role requires a strong understanding of both hardware and software, with expertise in a range of testing methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customers to define product specifications and write technical requirements.
- Translate requirements into system architectures, hardware/software specifications, and validation plans.
- Develop comprehensive test strategies and validation plans based on system-level requirements (e.g., DFMEA, DVP&R).
- Design and implement automated test scripts and frameworks using languages such as Python or CAPL.
- Perform functional, performance, and environmental testing on ECUs and vehicle systems using both HIL simulations and physical test vehicles.
- Troubleshoot electrical, software, and hardware-related issues and perform root cause analysis using structured problem-solving tools like the 8D methodology.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware and software design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to address system defects and drive product improvements.
- Analyze large datasets from validation activities and prepare detailed reports documenting test results, identified bugs, and compliance with specifications.
- Ensure all validation activities and documentation comply with automotive industry standards, such as ISO 26262 throughout the development cycle for functional safety and ISO 21434 for cybersecurity.
