General Description
The Supply Chain Intern will assist the procurement leaders with a variety of projects. The Supply Chain Intern will work with Supply Chain Manager, Director of Procurement, and the VP of Procurement to learn parts of the business, and support in projects and tasks that will help give a good prospective of Supply Chain and Purchasing at the High Companies. Coordinate the gathering of information from different SBUs to complete various audits, assist in documenting process flows, participating in negotiations etc. Specific projects to be identified prior to internship. Below are examples:

  • Supplier performance analysis
  • Inventory optimization
  • Freight cost analysis
  • Process automation research
  • Assist with benchmarking procurement KPI's
  • Understand demand forecasting
  • Assist with compliance auditing

Experience, Skills, Training, And/Or Education Required

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree with a major in Supply Chain Management or similar field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, such as Excel, Sharepoint, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail, flexibility, and good communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Preferred But Not Required)

  • Creating reports, flowcharts and/or dashboards for documenting processes and procedures
  • Required maturity and a high level of professionalism coupled with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Exposure supply chain categories

Reporting Relationships
The Supply Chain Intern reports to the VP of Procurement.

Essential Job Functions
Fundamental job requirements which an individual must be able to perform to accomplish the basic duties of the job:

  • Work in a professional office environment.
  • Working on a laptop with Microsoft applications and other software/portal platforms
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment
  • Utilize verbal and written communication skills

Marginal Job Functions
Duties performed by the job which are not critical to the successful completion of the essential job functions:

  • Perform other duties and assignments as required by Procurement department.
