The Edge on Science Approach: Our activities are largely self-directed. This position is not about lecturing; it is about facilitating. You will teach concepts and share knowledge, guiding students as they learn experientially.

Responsibilities
- Instruction: Learn and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to the needs of summer program students.
- Facilitation: Lead interactive learning experiences that promote student participation and enthusiasm.
- Assessment: Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaboration: Work with fellow instructors and staff to create a supportive, inclusive educational environment.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, organized classroom setting and ensure all materials are prepared.
Qualifications
- Experience: Strong teaching skills with experience in educational settings or youth programs.
- Engagement: Ability to motivate students in a summer program environment.
- Reliability: Strong time management skills; must be punctual for both students and staff.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with hand tools and crafting.
- Knowledge of High School Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Math.
Job Requirements & Logistics
- Work Authorization: Must be a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident.
- Background Check: Must pass a comprehensive background check provided by Edge on Science.
- Measurement: Must be proficient with the Metric System (we use the Metric system exclusively with no conversions).
- Certifications: Must have current Adult and Pediatric First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications. (Edge on Science will pay for your certification instruction if needed. )
- Training: Includes 10 hours of paid training.
- Logistics:
- Must possess a valid U.S. Social Security Number.
- Must be able to cover own accommodation and travel expenses if commuting from out of state.
- Availability: This application is for all weeks above.
- Confirmation: Must accept the job offer and confirm availability for the required weeks within 2 weeks of receiving the offer.
What We Provide: Curriculum, gear, supplies, outdoor space, and a fully equipped ("tricked-out") classroom are provided.
