About the role.

As the Production Manager, you will ensure that the established standards for safety, quality, delivery, people,

environment, and costs of production are maintained, and results are delivered against specific improvement goals by effectively planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating the operations of the plant.  You will develop and manage processes and systems to meet current and future business needs, and recruit, motivate, and develop all plant personnel. 

What you'll be doing. 

  • Direct plant operations to manage and coordinate the manufacturing of products in a way that ensure products are produced safely, efficiently and with the highest quality 
  • Work closely with production planning to effectively coordinate and control inventory levels of finished goods 
  • Ensure the plant's employee safety programs provide a safe working environment and regulatory compliance 
  • Through coaching/mentoring Supervisors/Shift Managers, by training, Motivating, communicating, problem solving, leadership and recognition develop a focus for others in creating and maintaining a continuous improvement environment that includes proper interpretation and application of company policies as well as legal and regulatory compliance 
  • Assist in the development of the operations portion of the plant budget 
  • Communicate with the production scheduler to review the scheduled plant production and set priorities 
  • Develop and effectively use reporting systems to inform operating and managerial personnel of the factory performance on a timely basis

What you'll need to be successful. 

  • 5 years in food processing or manufacturing setting 
  • 2 years of supervisory experience 
  • Thrives in the challenges that the manufacturing environment has to offer 
  • Passion for developing, mentoring, and coaching others 
  • Desire for leading and influencing others 
  • Project Management 
  • Problem solve day-to-day operational challenges 
  • Strong organizational, written, and oral communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills 
  • Champion of change

About the team.

This role is located in Coaldale, Alberta. The incoming candidate will have two Shift managers that will report into them and they will report into the senior production manager/ Plant manager.

Compensation Package: $97, $130, CAD annually + Bonus Eligibility 

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs.
