Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt pavers and related heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, dump trucks, and concrete mixers to lay asphalt efficiently and accurately.
• Prepare the work site by setting up machinery, inspecting equipment for safety and functionality, and ensuring all tools are ready for operation.
• Coordinate with team members to ensure proper material delivery, including concrete pumping and mixing, to maintain continuous paving flow.
• Monitor paving quality by checking surface smoothness, thickness, and compaction; make adjustments as needed to meet project specifications.
• Assist with concrete forming, rebar installation, and finishing tasks to support overall pavement integrity.
• Maintain safety protocols by conducting routine inspections, adhering to OSHA standards, and reporting any hazards or incidents immediately.
• Keep detailed records of daily operations, equipment maintenance, and project progress for accountability and reporting purposes.
• Support other construction activities on-site as required, demonstrating mechanical knowledge and versatility in handling various construction tasks.

Experience

• Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as asphalt pavers, loaders, excavators, dump trucks, and concrete mixers.
• Strong background in paving techniques, concrete finishing, and site preparation within a construction environment.
• Familiarity with concrete pumping systems, rebar installation processes, and concrete forming methods is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems related to construction machinery to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) or equivalent certification for operating commercial vehicles like dump trucks is preferred.
• Prior experience working on large-scale construction sites with a focus on asphalt paving or similar infrastructure projects enhances your candidacy.
