Kitchen Lead

Stella's Kitchen and Bakery is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Kitchen Lead to lead our early morning operations. This role is key to ensuring a smooth, efficient, and safe start to each day. You'll work closely with the Kitchen Manager to oversee daily prep, uphold food quality, maintain cleanliness, and keep our team running like clockwork.

Schedule:

• 4:00 am to 12:00 pm
• Must be able to work Saturday and Sunday

Key Responsibilities:

• Open the kitchen and execute back-of-house start-up procedures
• Lead morning prep to ensure stations are ready for service
• Jump in where needed—on the line, in prep, or assisting with dishes
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen at all times
• Monitor and enforce food safety standards, including temperature checks
• Assist with ordering, receiving, and proper storage of food and supplies
• Complete regular walk-throughs and temperature logs
• Support food quality, consistency, and presentation standards
• Foster teamwork between front-of-house and back-of-house staff
• Communicate clearly and professionally with all team members

Qualifications:

• Must be able to work Saturdays and Sundays 4:00 AM
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of restaurant prep or cook experience (fast food not applicable)
• Previous supervisory experience preferred
• ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
• Able to lift and carry 50–75 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
• Comfortable handling cleaning agents and following sanitation protocols
