Purchasing Leader

Position Overview:
Julius Silvert is looking for an experienced Purchasing Leader to optimize sourcing strategies, strengthen supplier relationships, and improve inventory efficiencies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, systematic, and thrives in a fast-paced food distribution environment. We are considering candidates at the Manager, Director, OR Vice President level. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute purchasing strategies for specialty food products.
• Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality and competitive pricing.
• Partner with sales teams to manage aged inventory and assess new product viability.
• Optimize purchasing operations by improving contract management and freight coordination.
• Analyze supplier performance and adjust strategies to maximize efficiency.

• 5+ years of purchasing leadership experience in food distribution.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring a team of Buyers and Category Manager
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to drive business objectives.
