Job Overview
We are seeking a caring and dedicated Daycare Assistant to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will support the daily care and development of children in a nurturing environment, ensuring their safety, engagement, and learning. This role involves working closely with children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, to foster a positive and educational atmosphere. Experience in childcare, classroom management, and early childhood education is highly valued. The Daycare Assistant will play a vital role in supporting classroom activities, implementing developmental programs, and maintaining a safe space for children to grow and thrive.
Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising and engaging children during daily activities, playtime, and learning sessions
- Support classroom management by maintaining a structured and safe environment
- Help with diapering, feeding, and basic infant care as needed
- Implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote childhood development and social skills
- Ensure the safety of all children by adhering to health and safety protocols
- Support behavior management strategies to encourage positive interactions among children
- Assist with cleaning and organizing toys, supplies, and classroom materials
- Collaborate with lead teachers and staff to plan and execute educational programs
- Provide compassionate care for children with special needs or disabilities when required
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding child progress and daily activities
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or similar settings is preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively
- Compassionate caregiving attitude with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing daily routines and individual child needs
- Reliable, patient, nurturing, and committed to fostering a positive learning environment
