About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering team, focused on developing Kora, our next-generation managed storage service. This role involves designing and building a highly available, scalable, and efficient storage engine tailored for enterprise clients demanding top-tier performance and reliability. As a key member of our team, you will set engineering standards, drive technical solutions from conception to deployment, and collaborate across departments to ensure seamless integration of storage features within our broader platform. Your expertise will influence the architecture of our storage infrastructure, mentoring junior engineers and guiding the team towards innovative solutions that push the boundaries of distributed storage systems.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant backend and infrastructure development experience
• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Proficiency in Java, Scala, C/C++, Go, or other statically typed programming languages
• Extensive experience designing and building large-scale, distributed storage systems
• Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts such as fault tolerance, consistency, and scalability
• Strong knowledge of systems-level components including disk I/O, networking, and operating systems
• Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring engineering teams
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize a high-performance, reliable, and scalable storage engine for Kora
• Lead end-to-end technical solution development, ensuring best practices and engineering excellence
• Collaborate with product management, design, and other engineering teams to integrate storage features seamlessly
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning
• Participate in architectural discussions, technical reviews, and strategic planning
• Contribute to open-source projects and stay current with industry trends in distributed storage and cloud infrastructure
• Engage in evangelism activities such as conference talks and technical writing to share knowledge and promote best practices
