Job Summary:

A Silver Brazer/Assembler in a cryogenic manufacturing company is responsible for joining metal components (frequently copper, brass, or stainless steel for the extreme temperature applications) using precise brazing techniques and assembling subassemblies according to strict technical specifications and safety standards.

Job Description:

• Perform precision silver brazing on components, often using an oxygen/acetylene hand torch, to create strong, leak-proof joints required for cryogenic systems.
• Assemble components and subassemblies by following engineering blueprints, schematics, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
• Utilize various shop equipment and tools, such as tape measures, manual torque wrenches, and air-powered tools.
• Adhere strictly to company safety protocols, quality manuals, and all relevant procedures, especially those related to working near high-temperature equipment and handling pressurized systems.
• Complete internal control documents accurately, including production, quality, and inspection forms.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with the production supervisor or cell leader to troubleshoot issues.

Competencies:

• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and assembly prints.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.

Job Requirements:

• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions.

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required

Experience:

• Previous experience in brazing, welding, soldering, or general mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
