About the Role

We are seeking a Dietarty Aide who will play a key role in supporting the health and recovery of our patients in outpatient substance use disorder treatment by keeping our kitchen clean, our dining areas stocked, and our meal operations running smoothly. From receiving food deliveries to maintaining sanitation standards, your work will directly impact the well-being of the individuals we serve.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with basic food preparation and meal setup.

  • Set up or break down serving lines and meal trays (including for Detox Hospital patients).

  • Stock dining areas with utensils, paper goods, and other supplies.

  • Support dishwashing and kitchen clean-up tasks as needed.

  • Perform daily and deep cleaning of kitchen equipment, work areas, and dining spaces.

  • Follow cleaning checklists and safety protocols to ensure a safe, sanitary environment.

  • Report maintenance needs or sanitation issues to the Manager promptly.

  • Receive and inspect food and supply deliveries; organize using first-in, first-out (FIFO) system.

  • Help manage inventory in refrigerators, freezers, and storage areas.

  • Coordinate orders with the cook and notify the supervisor of shortages or issues.

  • Work cooperatively with the dietary team and other departments.

  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude with patients and coworkers.

  • Provide feedback on workflow and suggest process improvements when needed.

  • Transport meal trays to external locations as requested.

  • Submit repair requests and communicate equipment concerns.

What We're Looking For

  • Proficient use of kitchen equipment (e.g., mixers, slicers, dishwashers, steamers).

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Team-oriented, self-directed, and dependable.

  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced clinical kitchen environment.

  • Neat, professional appearance and willingness to follow dress code.

  • Previous healthcare or dietary kitchen experience preferred.

  • Culinary training or food service background is a plus.

  • Valid Oregon Food Handler's Permit, required

  • Valid Driver's License, required

  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen (Serenity Lane is a Cannabis THC-free workplace)
