Duties

  • Perform patient intake procedures by collecting comprehensive medical histories and documenting vital signs accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as administering medications, drawing X-rays, and supporting procedures in outpatient clinics, hospitals, or surgical settings.
  • Support patient care by explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, and addressing questions with professionalism and empathy.
  • Conduct basic physiology and anatomy assessments to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Manage medical administrative tasks including ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), appointment scheduling, and maintaining detailed patient records.
  • Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and assist during procedures in various specialties such as dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, or emergency medicine.
  • Monitor vital signs during inpatient stays or emergency situations like Level I or Level II trauma center scenarios to ensure patient stability.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics, hospital settings, or specialized fields such as dermatology or emergency medicine.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with EHR systems for documentation and patient management.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications like X-ray operation or OR experience are a plus.
  • Familiarity with hospital environments including Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is highly desirable.
  • Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations including geriatrics and PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit).
  • Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced outpatient or inpatient settings while maintaining attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.
