Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Durango, CO, for a Network Engineer. The Network Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the city's network infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include designing, implementing, and managing network solutions, monitoring system performance, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and ensuring network security. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate technology systems, providing technical support, and staying updated on emerging networking technologies. The individual will also assist in maintaining compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in designing and implementing network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and wireless technologies
- Experience with network monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving connectivity issues
- Knowledge of network security practices, firewalls, and VPN configurations
- Understanding of protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs
- Skills in system analysis, documentation, and integration of technology solutions
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred)
- Relevant certifications like CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent (preferred)
- Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams
