Temporary Montessori Teacher Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Temporary Montessori Teacher Assistant to support classroom activities in a preschool or early childhood education setting. The ideal candidate will assist lead teachers in creating a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for young children. This role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in Montessori methods, childhood development, and classroom management. The position is temporary and paid with option to become a permanent staff member, designed for individuals passionate about early education and child development.

Responsibilities

• Support the lead Montessori teacher in implementing lesson plans across subjects such as literacy, math, and curriculum development
• Assist with classroom management to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment
• Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development
• Help facilitate activities related to toddler care, preschool education, and behavior management strategies
• Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized assistance
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment aligned with early childhood education standards

Requirements

• 12+ ECE/CD college units
• Bilingual (Spanish-English)
• Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings is highly desirable
• Knowledge of Montessori methods, early childhood education principles, and childhood development is preferred
• Experience working with children with diverse needs including toddlers and preschoolers
• Prior classroom experience demonstrating patience, adaptability, and professionalism
• Passion for early childhood education and supporting children's growth in a nurturing environment

Pay: $ $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 40.0 per week
