Role:
The individual will be responsible for processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices and issuing payment to suppliers
Responsibilities

Perform the following accounts payable functions for all companies (Dunn-Rite Food Products, Carleton Hatcheries, Sunrise Livehaul MB): 1) receive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services; 2) verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures; 3) prepare batches of invoices for data entry and enter invoices for payment; 4) manage the weekly cheque run and prepare vendor cheques for submission.

Maintain vendor master files.

Maintain an accurate and efficient filing system for accounts payable documents.

Maintain and update the Accounts Payable control and policy manuals.

Other accounting related duties as assigned by the Accounting Supervisor.

Requirements

Knowledge of accounts payable and maintaining general ledgers.

Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.

Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial and employee files.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Sound analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Very effective organizational skills and time management skills.

Effective written and oral communication skills.

Attention to detail and high level of accuracy is necessary.

Strong Excel skills.

Grade 12 education or equivalent. Courses in Accounting or Business Administration are an asset. Accounts Payable Certification would also be an asset.

2-3 years' experience in Accounts Payable and/or an Accounting environment.
