Structured Cabling Helper

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Structured Cabling Helper to assist with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunications and networking systems. This entry-level position provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of low voltage cabling, network infrastructure, and telecommunication systems. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a team environment to support various projects including fiber splicing, Ethernet cabling, and equipment setup.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation and termination of structured cabling including Cat5, Cat6, and fiber optic cables.
• Help with cable management, routing, and labeling to ensure compliance with schematics and NEC standards.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely for cable pulling, crimping, and equipment mounting.
• Aid in the testing of cabling and network connections using ohmmeters and other testing devices.
• Support field service activities including troubleshooting connectivity issues and performing basic repairs on telecommunication equipment.
• Assist with data center setups, equipment installation, and low voltage wiring projects.
• Follow safety protocols related to electrical work, telecommunication standards, and OSHA guidelines.

Experience

• Prior experience or familiarity with telecommunications or networking is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• Knowledge of CCTV systems, fiber splicing, Ethernet wiring, Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, VoIP systems, and computer networking is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, equipment repair, or low voltage wiring projects is desirable.
• Experience running, terminating and testing UTP Cabling is desired but not required.
• Experience with Access Control Cabling is Desired but not Required.

Pay: $ $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
