Head Chef and Kitchen Manager

La Petite Market is a growing convenience store with an in-house kitchen concept focused on Tex-Mex hot food and high-quality grab-and-go items. We are looking for a Head Chef / Kitchen Manager who not only knows how to cook great food, but also knows how to run a kitchen like a business.

This role is ideal for someone who takes ownership, understands food cost, and wants to help build and scale a kitchen operation from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee daily production of Tex-Mex hot food and grab-and-go items
• Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and food cost control
• Ensure consistent food quality, portioning, and presentation
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety compliance
• Develop prep systems and workflows for efficiency and speed
• Assist with menu refinement and operational improvements
• Train and oversee kitchen staff as the operation grows
• Work closely with ownership to improve profitability and operations

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a Head Chef, Kitchen Manager, or Lead Cook with management responsibilities
• Strong understanding of inventory management, food cost, and kitchen operations
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of the kitchen
• Experience with Tex-Mex, hot foods, or high-volume quick-service kitchens preferred
• Reliable, organized, and business-minded
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

• Hourly pay + performance-based bonuses tied to food quality, cost control, and operations

Pay: $43, $52,696.21 per year
