About The Role
The PaceMate QA Engineer - Automation is a full-time, remote position designed for an experienced quality assurance professional with a strong background in automated testing of web applications. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of PaceMate's software solutions by developing and executing automated test scripts, analyzing test results, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues efficiently. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in QA automation, with expertise in testing complex SaaS platforms, APIs, and microservices. This role requires a proactive approach to quality assurance, keen attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to work effectively with developers, product managers, and business partners. The successful candidate will contribute to delivering high-quality software releases that meet regulatory standards, including HIPAA compliance, and support PaceMate's mission to improve cardiac patient outcomes through innovative technology solutions.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of industry experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer
- Strong expertise in testing complex workflows on SaaS platforms, including web applications, APIs, and microservices
- Proven problem-solving skills in scalability, reliability, reporting, and analytics areas
- Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks such as Playwright (TypeScript), Cypress (JavaScript), Jest, Mocha
- Solid knowledge of relational databases and SQL, including MySQL, REST APIs, Postman, Swagger
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions
- Proficiency in version control systems like GitHub and Bitbucket
- Experience with test reporting tools such as Allure Reports and Cucumber Reports
- Familiarity with AI tools including Claude Code and GitHub Copilot
- Nice-to-have experience in performance testing tools like JMeter and k6
- Prior experience working in health tech environments and understanding of HIPAA compliance
- Experience working with health records and medical device data, including HL7 data, is preferred
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to learn new frameworks quickly
- Must reside within the contiguous United States and have a dedicated home office setup with high-speed internet
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web-based applications, APIs, and microservices
- Create detailed test plans, test cases, and test data to ensure comprehensive test coverage
- Execute automated tests, analyze results, and report defects with detailed documentation for efficient resolution
- Work closely with software developers and product teams to identify testing requirements and improve testing processes
- Perform troubleshooting and debugging to isolate issues, identify root causes, and facilitate timely fixes
- Assess risks associated with new features and releases, providing relevant data for decision-making
- Participate in continuous integration and deployment processes to ensure smooth and reliable software releases
- Maintain and improve existing automation frameworks, keeping up-to-date with industry best practices
- Collaborate in cross-functional teams to understand dependencies and ensure project timelines are met
- Contribute to quality assurance documentation, test reports, and compliance standards, including HIPAA regulations
