Floral Event Designer

Overview
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Floral Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for floral artistry, horticulture, and customer service, with the ability to create stunning floral arrangements for various occasions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant retail environment, combining artistic skills with retail sales expertise. Multilingual abilities and experience in lawn care, landscape maintenance, or gardening are considered valuable assets. The Floral Designer will contribute to enhancing our store's visual appeal and provide exceptional service to our customers.

Duties

• Design and create custom floral arrangements for events, holidays, and everyday occasions
• Assist customers in selecting flowers and related products, providing expert advice on floral design and care
• Maintain the freshness and quality of flowers by proper handling, storage, and inventory management
• Manage stock levels of floral supplies, tools, and decorative elements through merchandising and stocking
• Operate POS systems for sales transactions, including cash handling and retail math calculations
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, offering product recommendations, and ensuring customer satisfaction
• Support store merchandising efforts by arranging displays that highlight seasonal themes and promotional items
• Assist with gardening, lawn care, landscape maintenance tasks as needed to support overall store presentation
• Utilize organizational skills to keep the workspace clean, organized, and efficient

Qualifications

• Proven experience or strong interest in floral design; horticulture knowledge is a plus
• Basic understanding of retail sales processes including POS systems, cashiering, and stock management
• Excellent communication skills; ability to interact effectively with diverse customers in English; multilingual skills are advantageous
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in merchandising and arrangement creation
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
• Knowledge of gardening, lawn care, landscape maintenance preferred but not required
• Customer service orientation with a friendly demeanor and professional appearance
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly
• Flexibility to work during store hours which may include weekends or holidays as needed
