The KSTEP Associate Director assists the KSTEP Program Director in providing direction and leadership of the KSTEP Program and represents KVC Kentucky for this program with DCBS and all other community partners. The Associate Director supports the Program Director to ensure the quality of KSTEP services and compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations. The KSTEP Associate Director will also maintain a clinical caseload, providing direct assessment and ongoing clinical services to KSTEP clientele.

The Associate Director will complete administrative tasks as needed and assigned, working with the Program Director to coordinate and supervise daily operations. The KSTEP Associate Director must have a Master's Degree in Social Work (or closely related human services field), professional licensure preferred. The Associate Director shall have demonstrated professional experience providing treatment services to families and supervisory oversight.

  • Program Oversight

    • Provide overall direction to KSTEP programming, including, but not limited to, monitoring referrals, assigning cases to wraparound team members as indicated, and ensuring compliance with contractual guidelines.
    • Review and provide input on each comprehensive assessment to engender sound clinical formulation and quality assurance.
    • Maintain communication with DCBS regional management and/or DCBS Referral and Selection designee regarding availability of services, acceptance of referrals, and program data.
    • Collaborate with clinical supervisors regarding clinician development and progress toward licensure.
    • Facilitate staff meetings for the KSTEP Program staff as needed.
    • Work with community partners in the provision of services and attend case staffing/ meetings with community partners as indicated.
    • Maintain dialogue with management concerning the status of the KSTEP Program, including outcomes, budget, and staffing.
    • Oversee weekly case consultations attended by all wraparound team members and create an open environment in which consultation and feedback enhances outcomes of service delivery.
    • Represent KVC Kentucky in the capacity of the KSTEP Associate Program Director to DCBS, schools, courts and other community partners.
    • Maintain the integrity of the KSTEP Program by accurate and complete record keeping.
    • Assist in hiring of KSTEP Supervisors and Family Care Coordinators.
    • Act as an onsite trainer to KSTEP Supervisors and Family Care Coordinators regarding agency policies and procedures, job expectations and requirements, and daily tasks of the job.
    • Assists with evaluating employees within the KSTEP Program as to job performance and suitability, providing assistance, coaching, training or progressive discipline as necessary
    • Assist program director in ensuring that all KSTEP documentation is current, complete and available within agency and contractual timeframes.
    • Assist with creation of Individual Learning Plan with KSTEP Supervisors Family Care Coordinators and assist in achievement of progress towards all identified areas of training for each employee.
    • Oversee wraparound team members' use of flex funds to assist with families' identified environmental and tangible needs in keeping with Service Plan goals and in accordance with KSTEP Services contract.
    • Participate in on-call rotation to facilitate availability of a supervisor back-up to specialists 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.
  • Continuing Education & Professional Development

    • Attend training in the Wraparound model within 6 months of hire.
    • Attend trainings in fidelity measures necessary to complete job functions.
    • Attend meetings, seminars, and other educational functions of the agency as identified by supervisor.
    • Designated licensed clinicians may provide weekly direct clinical supervision to KVC Kentucky employees.
    • Obtain 40 CEUs per year, including 20 by June 30.
    • Complete assigned Relias Learning courses by given deadlines.
    • Maintain professional licensing and certification as identified by the supervisor or agency director and state regulations.
  • Record Keeping & Documentation

    • Review and approve records in ChartOnline (electronic records system) for the purpose of quality assurance, documentation of service delivery, contractual requirements, and agency billing.
    • Provide communication to DCBS personnel and KVC staff via email notification of case assignment and acceptance per contractual guidelines.
    • Maintain clear record keeping on allocation of all program expenses including flex funds and ensure all regional cardholders submit receipts weekly and in accordance with agency policy.
    • Submit program information necessary to complete monthly invoicing.
    • Enter case information into the In-Home Services Database, as needed.
  • Special Projects

    • Assist with any special duties or responsibilities assigned by agency director or another member of management.
  • Professional Performance and Conduct

    • Meet expectations as defined in the Performance Evaluation and Competency Checklists.
    • Dress professionally as outlined in the KVC Employee Manual.
  • -Maintain confidentiality of client and agency information. All KVCemployees are privy to confidential client information. Due to complex treatment needs of our clients, service providers -have contacts that require written and verbal information exchange with different professionals and agencies. A strict code of behavior must be maintained to protect the special nature of -divulged information.

    • Follow reporting laws. When a child is endangered, in areas of health, neglect, physical and/or sexual abuse, all staff are legally obligated to report that information to authorities.
    • Maintain client rights as outlined in agency manuals.
    • Follow risk management policies as outlined in agency manuals.
    • Follow KVC emergency and safety procedures as outlined in agency manuals.
    • Maintain a current Driver's License and automobile insurance (as required by agency's insurer).
    • Maintain professional behavior and attitude when interacting with management, colleagues, clients, and community partners in any setting.
    • Follow code of ethics of one's profession (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Counselors, Marriage & Family Therapists).
