Kitchen Mechanic Technician

Position Summary:
Primary responsibilities are to troubleshoot, maintain and repair commercial kitchen equipment. Additional responsibilities include performing duties like installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining club house facility buildings and equipment.

Essential Responsibilities:

· Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment. This includes gas, electric, and water systems. Examples of equipment are but not limited to ovens, ranges, fryers, grills, steamers, convection ovens, etc. Work on toaster ovens, heat lamps, hot boxes, mixers and other kitchen related equipment

· Install new kitchen equipment including connections to gas, electric and water systems.

· Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and ensure safe operation.

· Diagnose performance through observation, testing and setup.

· Communicate part orders and repair status with engineering managers and chefs

· Follow all Country Club policies and procedures, particularly regarding safety.

· Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, plumbing troubleshooting and repair of club equipment and facilities.

· Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Use of computer tablet for service work orders

· Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.

· Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to the engineering management team and chefs

· Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

· Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

Must be available to work an early shift starting around 500 am or earlier on a 40-hour work week. Additional hours and/or overtime may be required from time to time.

• Familiarity with relevant gas, plumbing and electrical codes and regulations.

• Ability to competently use a variety of gauges, meters, measuring instruments, torches, and hand tools.
• Self-motivated with a proven ability to prioritize and work independently.
• Valid driver's license.

Education & Work Experience Requirements:

• A High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• A Trade School Diploma and/or Journeyman License preferred.
• 5 years' work experience in Kitchen Hot and Cold Equipment Service preferred

• Repeated bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, and climbing up and down ladders.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Occasional to frequent exertion in high and low temperature environments (over heated kitchens, rooftops, outdoors, etc.).

Compensation:
Salary is commensurate with experience.
