JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Miriam School and Learning Center is seeking a reliable and responsible driver to transport students safely and efficiently between our campuses in a company-provided van. The driver will ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of the students during transit while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safely transport students between designated campuses according to a set schedule. Ensure the van is maintained in good working condition by performing regular inspections and reporting any issues promptly. Adhere to all traffic laws, driving regulations, and company safety policies. Assist students with boarding and exiting the van, ensuring their safety at all times. Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students regarding schedules and any changes. Follow all protocols for emergency situations and report incidents immediately to the appropriate authorities and school administration.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid Class E driver's license with a clean driving record. Prior experience in a similar role or other professional driving experience preferred. Excellent knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving practices. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage time effectively and adhere to schedules. Patience and ability to interact positively with students of various ages. First aid and CPR certification preferred.

WORK CONDITIONS:

Work hours may vary depending upon the schedule. Tentatively: 10 month position according to the school calendar. Primarily responsible for transporting students between campuses, but may include occasional field trips, internships or special events.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must have the ability to sit for extended periods, ability to assist students with mobility issues if necessary, and the ability to perform vehicle checks. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
