Since 2009, the Lawrenceville-Suwanee School of Music has proudly provided exceptional music education to the Lawrenceville-Suwanee community. With nearly 1,200 students across two thriving locations, we offer lessons in a variety of instruments for students ages 4 through adult. As a ten-time Best of Gwinnett winner, National Music School of the Year 2021, recipient of the Most Outstanding Organization Award 2023, and recently featured in the NBCUniversal Spotlight 2024, our reputation is built on excellence, dedication, and heart.

We are currently seeking an experienced, full-time Office Manager/Assistant Manager to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate is an energetic, service-minded professional with a minimum of 2 years of sales experience, strong administrative skills, and a genuine love for helping people. Position Summary

As the Office Manager (or Assistant Manager during peak evening hours), you will be the welcoming face of LSSM—serving as a key liaison between students, families, teachers, and our leadership team. This role combines customer service, enrollment support, sales, administrative tasks, and team coordination. You'll help ensure a safe, joyful, and organized environment where students can thrive and teachers feel supported.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement & Front Desk Leadership

  • Greet students and families with warmth and professionalism
  • Answer phones and promptly return calls; prioritize in-person service
  • Conduct tours, explain programs, and convert walk-ins to enrollments
  • Provide soft sales support to prospective clients, helping them choose the best path for their musical journey

Student Safety & Facility Oversight

  • Enforce safety protocols, especially for younger students (under 13)
  • Conduct regular building walkthroughs to maintain a safe, welcoming environment
  • Monitor lobby and classroom spaces for order and cleanliness

Teacher & Team Support

  • Keep lessons running on schedule and manage any deviations promptly
  • Support over 60 teachers with day-to-day communication and coordination
  • Supervise the Office Assistant when on shift, ensuring smooth and focused operations

Administrative & Sales Support

  • Process enrollments and trial lessons accurately
  • Respond to inquiries across social media platforms and email
  • Distribute flyers, create basic marketing materials, and assist with light event coordination
  • Sell small retail items with enthusiasm and product knowledge

Shift Communication & Operations

  • Maintain clear and professional documentation of shift activities
  • Ensure seamless handoffs between daytime and evening teams
  • Perform minimal cleaning tasks (e.g., vacuuming, trash) to maintain a tidy space

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales, customer service, or office administration
  • Must be willing to work at both locations (Lawrenceville AND Suwanee)
  • Strong computer literacy and social media communication skills
  • Independent worker who thrives in a high-energy environment
  • Detail-oriented, outgoing, and passionate about helping others
  • Must be available to work a full-time schedule (40 hrs/week - 5 days per week) including at least two Saturdays per month
  • Weekday hours: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
  • Saturday hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Closed Sundays
  • Employees in this role are expected to actively participate in ongoing professional development, including individual learning, team development activities, and department-wide initiatives (e.g., training sessions, workshops, book clubs, or similar learning programs).

  • Experience managing others or coordinating teams in a professional setting

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay: $17.00- $19.00 per hour (based on experience)
