About The Role
As a Contract Manager for Scoular, you will lead the negotiation, development, and management of contracts with growers, suppliers, and logistics partners to support the full lifecycle of our commodity operations. You will be responsible to ensure that all agreements comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements, and align with Scoular's commodity trading and supply chain strategies. You will play a critical role in mitigating risks, safeguarding business interests, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence and business growth. The position is key to optimizing contract processes and enhancing organizational efficiency across our global operations.

  • Negotiate and Develop Contracts: Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of commercial agreements with growers, suppliers, and logistics partners, securing favorable terms that support the company's commodity trading objectives.
  • Contract Administration and Compliance: Oversee contract management processes, enforce best practices, and ensure compliance with agricultural industry regulations and internal standards.
  • Collaboration and Advisory: Work closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams to provide strategic guidance on contract matters, risk mitigation, and operational improvements.
  • Template and Systems Management: Develop, maintain, and administer contract templates and leverage legal technology tools to streamline the contract lifecycle and support commodity operations.
  • Training and Continuous Improvement: Deliver staff training on contract management principles and contribute to ongoing enhancements in legal department processes, supporting company-wide excellence.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field; or certification in Paralegal Studies with relevant experience
  • 7+ years of experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, preferably in commodity or supply chain settings
  • Proficiency in MS 365, SharePoint, or other document management systems
  • Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to contract terms and conditions

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in agriculture commodities, food production, supply chain or a related industry
  • Background in intellectual property, cybersecurity, or data privacy negotiations, especially related to agri-tech and commodity training
  • Experience with government contracting, regulatory compliance, or multi-site/global business operations
