Low Voltage Lead Technician
Position Summary:
The Lead Technician is responsible for overseeing and executing the installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting, a various cabling system, including copper and fiber optics, as well as supporting low-voltage technologies. This role requires significant travel and the ability to lead projects, manage timeline, and ensure high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead and managing cabling installation projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to project plans, timelines, and quality standards.
· Traveling extensively (at least 50% of the time) to various client sites to perform install installations, service calls, and project oversight.
· Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately.
· Perform dressing of telecommunication closets and equipment rooms.
· Terminating and testing various cable types, including Cat5e, Cat6, RG 11, and RG6.
· Utilizing and interpreting results from testing equipment, such as Fluke testers, Fluke OTDR testers and basic four-pair testers.
· (Optional but preferred) Perform fusion splicing and installing Uni-cam connectors.
· Maintain accurate project, documentation and progress reports.
· Provide guidance and training to junior technicians on site
· Communicate effectively with clients, project manager, and team members.
· Troubleshoot and resolve, cabling and connectivity issues
· Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies, and industry standards.
· Possess basic knowledge of CCTV installation and setup.
· Possess basic knowledge of Access Control system installation and setup.
Qualifications:
· Minimum of three years of experience as a Lead Technician in the low-voltage cabling or telecommunication industry.
· Must possess a clean driving record in a valid driver's license.
· Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time, often on short notice
· Proficient at reading and interpreting blueprint, schematics, and technical specifications.
· Basic knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
· Basic knowledge of project planning and time management principles.
· Demonstrate ability to dress telecommunication closets professionally.
· Prove in ability to terminate in task, Cat5e, Cat6, or RG11, and RG6 cabling.
· Experience in using and interpreting results from Fluke, testers, Fluke OTDR testers, and basic four pair testers.

· Belden Certified Technician
· CommScope Certified Technician
· Panduit Certified Technician
· Corning Fiber Technician
· CommScope Fiber Technician
· Belden Fiber Technician

· Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to lift and move equipment as required (up to 50 LBS)
· Ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and at heights.
Pay: $ $31.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
