The Role at a GlanceWe are excited to bring on a Sales Assistant to join our Group Protection Distribution Team supporting Workplace Solutions. The ideal candidate will be located within a commutable distance to one of our key city offices and work in a hybrid environment. These locations include Baltimore, MD; Charlotte, NC; West Palm Beach, FL; Houston, TX; Dallas, TX; Seattle, WA; Detroit, MI; and Chicago, IL. Candidates outside a commutable distance would work in a fully remote capacity.
Background Details
The Group Protection Distribution Team will help you grow your group benefits knowledge and establish strong partnerships (internally/externally) while working in this fast-paced environment.
As a Sales Assistant for Group Benefits, you will play a critical role in supporting Sales Representatives with Request for Proposal (RFP) management and ensuring a seamless Sold Case handoff. This position is accountable for maintaining accuracy, facilitating clear and timely communication with brokers, and partnering effectively with internal teams. What you'll be doing- You will gather, evaluate and assess information to complete request for proposals (RFPs), potential clients and sold cases partnering directly with your Sales Rep, Underwriter, and broker.
- You will influence market growth with RFP accuracy and exceptional sold case submissions by being knowledgeable and thorough with daily activities.
- You will coordinate and perform pre and post sale activities in partnership with marketing, underwriting, IT , billing, compliance and legal. In addition, you will support benefit fair activities, including creating benefit summaries and plan grids tailored to clients specific plan and design rates.
- You will build trusting relationships with our internal and external partners to maintain a valuable marketplace presence and uphold our commitment to the customer.
- You will identify, recommend and champions process improvements and organizational initiatives to positively influence the team and quality.
Must-have experience (Required):
- 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's).
- 0 - 1+ Years' experience in a sales environment with general insurance background.
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal/written)
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team and build positive relationships
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Nice-to have Experience (Preferred):
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt as needed.
- Ability to maneuver through multiple systems.

The pay range for this position is $44,800 - $81,400 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln's standard benefits package.
