Maintenance Technician

MTR Properties is seeking a full-time Maintenance Tech. Our company is looking for an individual who is willing to learn and grow and who wants to serve our residents with great customer service. The houses and duplexes are located in Ames, IA, with over 130 units.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, adaptable, with strong multi-tasking skills and a willingness to work hard. Previous experience in construction, plumbing, electrical and/or general maintenance is preferred. Candidates must have a valid driver's license.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Ensure all work orders are completed in a timely manner based on priority
• Painting both interior and exterior applications
• Assist with a preventative maintenance program
• General construction to the properties such as window and door replacement and install flooring
• HVAC repair
• Minor plumbing and electrical
• Make Ready units in between tenants - including painting, flooring and repairs
• Periodically be on call for emergency maintenance items deemed an emergency by management.
• Responsible for the care, maintenance, inventory and proper use of all provided supplies, tools, and equipment
• Inspect properties and correct any problems or notify management of findings which are in need of a solution
• Analyze physical state of properties and identify and implement ways to improve the appearance of the properties, with approval from Manager

Physical Demands: Will be exposed to the constant activity that requires intermittent standing, bending, crouching, pushing/pulling, lifting/moving/carrying light and heavy loads, climbing stairs and ladders.

Compensation:

• Compensation will be based off experience.
• Use of a company vehicle during business hours or business-related work (after-hour duties).

Job Type: Full-time 40 hours per week with seasonal overtime.

Pay: $ $26.00 per hour
