We are seeking a diligent Material Handler to join our operations in Detroit, Michigan. This role is vital for maintaining the smooth flow of goods within our warehouse and production facilities. Your responsibilities will encompass receiving, storing, and distributing materials efficiently and safely. You will operate various material handling equipment, ensuring that inventory is accurately tracked and managed. The ideal candidate is physically capable, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding a high standard of workplace safety. This position is integral to our logistics operations, requiring you to work collaboratively with team members and follow instructions precisely. We emphasize a secure working environment, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role involves frequent and considerable Lifting. Responsibilities:
- Receive, identify, and store incoming materials and products.
- Transport materials between different warehouse locations using appropriate equipment.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and transport vehicles.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with stocktaking.
- Ensure all materials are handled and stored in a safe and organized manner.
- Operate pallet jacks, forklifts (if certified), and other lifting devices.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Report any damages, shortages, or safety hazards to management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a material handling or warehouse environment.
- Proven ability to perform tasks requiring significant Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Knowledge of safety regulations and the correct use of PPE in a warehouse setting.
- Experience operating various material handling equipment.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to punctuality.
