We are looking for motivated Picker/Packers to join our busy warehouse team in Des Moines, Iowa. This entry-level position is crucial for fulfilling customer orders accurately and efficiently. You will be responsible for locating items in the warehouse, accurately picking them from shelves, and then preparing them for shipment. This role requires attention to detail, speed, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. The Picker/Packer will work closely with other team members to ensure smooth operations within our logistics hub. You will play a key part in ensuring our customers receive their orders correctly and on time. Familiarity with scanning equipment is a plus, and a willingness to learn is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick customer orders using pick lists or scanning devices.
- Pack items securely and efficiently for shipment, ensuring product protection.
- Verify order accuracy before packing and shipping.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Operate pallet jacks and other basic material handling equipment as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including Safety guidelines.
- Properly use any required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with receiving and stocking duties as directed.
- Meet daily productivity and quality standards.
- Participate in inventory counts as required.
- Handle items requiring moderate Lifting (up to 40 lbs).
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of our logistics operations.
- Report any issues or discrepancies to your supervisor immediately.
- Uphold high standards of workplace Safety at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or picking/packing role is beneficial but not required.
- Ability to read and understand order forms and labels.
- Basic math skills for order verification.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Ability to perform tasks involving moderate Lifting.
- Understanding of basic warehouse and logistics principles.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and following instructions.
- Team player attitude and willingness to help others.
- Experience with RF scanners is a plus.
