Join our team in Virginia Beach, Virginia, as a Forklift Operator and play a vital role in our warehouse operations. You will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials. This position is essential for the smooth flow of goods within our logistics facility. The ideal candidate is a certified forklift operator with a strong commitment to safety and experience in a warehouse environment. You will work collaboratively with other warehouse staff to ensure that all materials are handled correctly and efficiently. A keen awareness of your surroundings and adherence to safety protocols are paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Stack and organize inventory in designated areas.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any issues.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including the use of required PPE.
- Assist with inventory management tasks as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and logistics.
- Support other warehouse functions when required.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Handle tasks involving moderate Lifting of products and materials.
- Ensure the secure transport of goods to prevent damage.
- Contribute to maintaining a high level of operational Safety.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Ability to perform tasks involving Lifting and maneuvering materials.
- Strong understanding of forklift safety procedures.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to all protocols.
- Familiarity with different types of forklifts is a plus.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
